Stock planning
Plan new stock, existing remnants and usable offcuts before cutting.
CutSimply can either calculate the number of new bars needed, or check a fixed stock quantity when you already know what material is available.
Open the optimiserTwo stock modes
Calculate bars needed is useful for quoting or ordering material. Enter one or more available stock lengths and CutSimply will choose a layout based on the optimiser aim.
Use fixed stock quantity is useful when the rack already has a set number of bars available. If the job cannot fit, the calculator warns you instead of silently assuming more stock can be opened.
Useful offcut threshold
Set a realistic threshold for what your workshop would actually keep. A tiny offcut might technically be waste, but a longer remnant may be worth labelling and putting back in the rack.
Rough weight checks
The stock and remnant weights use the selected rough material density and section size. Treat them as planning values, not certified weighing data.
