Local backup

Back up saved jobs and saw profiles without an account.

CutSimply currently saves jobs and profiles in your own browser. The local backup tool lets you download one JSON file and restore it later on the same device or another browser.

What it includes

One file for browser-local data

The backup contains local saved jobs and local saw profiles. It does not upload anything to CutSimply and it does not create a cloud account.

Saved jobsCut lists, material choices, stock lengths, offcuts, units, notes and other job settings saved in the browser.
Saw profilesMachine defaults such as saw type, feed mode, kerf, timing extras, handling allowances and calibration multipliers.
Restore by mergingRestoring a backup merges items into the current browser. Items with the same name are updated.

Use it sensibly

Keep important work outside the browser too

Browser storage is convenient, but it is not a replacement for a proper account/database system. For important jobs, keep downloaded reports, CSVs or JSON exports as well.

Before clearing browser dataDownload a local backup first if you want to keep saved jobs and profiles.
Before changing computersDownload a backup file from the old browser, then restore it on the new one.
Before accounts existThis gives users a safer way to keep repeat work without needing us to build cloud syncing too early.
